If you are like me, and have suffered for years with dry, flaky and itchy skin, then please read on. I know
what it’s like to try lotion after lotion only to find that you have wasted your time and
worse, your money. I no longer have that problem, and I’ll tell you why.
Fifteen years ago, when I first met my husband, he noticed that I was constantly
applying this lotion and that lotion to my hands, feet, elbows, neck, face, etc., etc.. He also caught on real quick to the fact that while we would be shopping, if I stopped to look at the lotions, he might as well just toddle his “happy - little - butt” off to the hardware or automotive section, because I was going to be a while. I would read labels, sniff, shake and look over every product on the shelves, hoping to find something new.
One day when visiting his mother (a registered nurse),
she handed me a little bottle, winked, and said “Give this a try.” She told me to take the
little bottle home with me, apply it about twice a day, sparingly, and let her know how it worked for me.
The bottle sat in my purse for several days and I totally forgot about it until I was getting ready to put on some high-priced super-dooper lotion (I can’t say the name here, but I’m sure you’ve tried it) that I had sent off for a while back.
Like always, this new lotion was not helping much. I suddenly remembered “Mom’s” lotion. I excitedly rushed out to the living room, grabbed my purse, took out the little bottle and opened it.
The very first thing I noticed was that although it smelled great, it was totally different from anything I had ever had in my hands before. I had to stop, look, and I even chuckled. This stuff was thin and almost runny. I remember thinking, “This is not what a lotion is supposed to be like. Lotion is supposed to be thick and creamy. This can‘t be much.”
Needless to say, my hopes of having finally found the “miracle-cure” were dashed, but as I’m sure you can relate to, this was nothing new to me. On second thought, it occurred to me that I really had nothing to lose by giving it a try. I spread some on just my hands, arms and elbows(not really hoping for much), then put the bottle by my kitchen sink.
I noticed right away how quickly it absorbed into my skin. The next little surprise was that I felt a little tingling where I had applied the lotion. I quickly shrugged that off as my imagination.
